Today, we operate in a modern production facility that compares with the finest in the industry. Our in-house capabilities for the entire boat-building process, from the initial design and tooling, through constructing, assembly, testing and shipping, are controlled by some of the toughest standards in the industry... our own.  All our boats are hand-laid from the finest roll stocks and resins available. Deck hardware is thru-bolted stainless steel with backing plates. No detail is too small to be considered un-important. Formula Power Boats are proudly serving in commercial, governmental agency, recreational and high-tech sportfishing use around Australia.

Formula Power Boats Australia has been building quality boats since the late 1990s. It has never been our intention to become an industry giant, but rather to build boats for customers who recognise the important qualities in boats dictated by common sense and time-tested design features. This straight forward approach, combined with an uncompromising dedication to the highest quality construction practices, has earned our entire range the reputation of simplicity, strength, and seaworthiness.  Every employee has vested interest in seeing that each boat we build represents our best effort.

The story of the boats you see on this web site started in Darwin when the founder of Formula Boats Australia, Adrian Clancy found a beaten up old Haines 23 in a paddock. Clancy was a keen fisherman so he bought the boat and tidied it up. He used it to fish from for a while, but soon decided it didn't quite fit the bill for what he wanted. He was looking for a stable and seaworthy vessel he could use for both competition fishing and as a safe family cruiser to take his wife and kids out on. Clancy discovered several other molds were up for sale. He liked the look of the hulls and after some research bought them, then went to work building his own boat. "I wanted to build a boat that could safely cross bars and do some offshore work if needed," he said. The boat proved so successful that he started Formula Power Boats Australia and is now selling them for both pleasure and commercial applications. The hull molds have now been tweaked to carry both twin and single outboard installations and the interior has also been redesigning to create this latest models. The commercial versions can be put into survey, but all the boats are constructed in the same way, so customers can be sure of the boat's strength.

There are now eight (7) models in total within the Formula Stable. All built to the same exacting standards that has earned us many accolades.

All Formula boats are built incredibly tough and are covered by 10 year warranty.  We have NOT had any structural warranty claims - EVER !
