Formula Power Boats Australia has been building quality boats since the late 1990s. However, it has never been our intention to become an industry giant, but rather to build boats for customers who recognise the important qualities in boats dictated by common sense and time-tested design features. Every boat we build merges a winning combination of ride, range and fishability with features that hard-core boaters demand.

The most important factor in your enjoyment and safety on the open sea is the design / construction of the hull, and there is simply no other sport fishing boat that can favorably compare to the durability, strength, ruggedness and especially the ride of our boats.

Our boats are built on the traditional foundations of the legendary blue water hulls, deep vee’s and elegant bow flares have been evolving through decades of input from naval architects and builders alike. We have created boats that are now legendary for their ability to take on the most brutal head seas with comfort and confidence, track effortlessly in following or breaking seas and deliver a steady, stable platform whether trolling out on the shelf or cruising with your family on the bay.

Just as important as the smooth, dry ride of our boats, is the incredible process we go through to hand-build our incredibly strong and safe hulls. Throughout the process of design and production, quality control procedures at every level ensure that all materials, components and finishes are of the highest order. Under the watchful eyes of our master boat builders, each hull is subjected to a series of exacting tests to verify that it meets or exceeds our internal standards for flawlessness and function. To say that our hulls are over engineered would be a gross understatement. Then again, thats why we provide a 10 year hull warranty on all boats.

Our boats are built by serious boat builders, for serious fishermen. We know what it is like to run 130Klms out to Rocky & Greenly Islands in S.A to chase Samson’s, Kings, Groper and Southern Blue’s, then turn around to run the 130klms back through Australia’s toughest seas. We understand what you need when you’re backing down on a marlin in the last five minutes of a tournament. We’ve been out there when the bite is on and the weather turns bad, but you really want to keep fishing.

I came across the sweet 16 quite by accident. I was reviewing a jet ski when i saw this boat cutting across Port Philip Bay. It was very fast and did not mind the short sharp chop PPB is famous for. Infact i am sure it went faster as it came back past me. I had to go and have a look. I caught up with the driver and the rest is history. What an amazing machine. Its 16ft of pure unadulterated muscle complete with a 260Hp Mercruiser under the hood. The owner was kind enough to take me for a ride, only a short ride but at 50Mph i think we traveled a good distance. This was serious fun and i had a smile from ear to ear. The smile started when it roared into life and i think i was still smiling an hour after the run ended. These craft are legendary, just check out the internet and you will see the history of them in the USA. Put simply, these are a lot of fun and really get the adrenalin pumping through your veins

I just cant fault it. I wanted a rig i could use whenever i wanted - not when the weather permitted. I was told about the Formula 21 and at first i didn’t believe it. Anyway, i checked it out. I first saw the Formula 21 CC on the water at Mallacootta. It was drop dead sexy. I approached the guys who had it and asked if i could take a look. The guys later took me for a run. That was it - i had to have one. I live on the mid coast of NSW and my family and i love to spend long days on the water swimming, sunning and fishing (althought i never seem to catch much). This boat was perfect for what we wanted. I am glad i fitted a 225 Optimax and a winch - my whole family has enjoyed every minute in it.

Its just sounds TOUGH ! My Formula 16 has the looks, sounds and performance that just makes a day on water heaps of fun. I took it to the boat show last year, there were 5 of us on board. My girlfriend and 3 of her friends. We just cruised our way around the show - it was awesome. Every now and then we would shoot offshore for some fun, at high speed of course, before returning to calm waters.
